Come and experience the wild backcountry in the remote Montana wilderness!
Montana Backcountry Outfitters invite you to unravel the mysteries of the undiscovered backcountry wilderness hidden deep into Montana’s westernmost region. Our organized hunting and packing trips are designed to bring you unsurpassed opportunities to take on new challenges, improve your riding skills, learn new hunting techniques, and most importantly, immerse yourself in a world unscathed by technology and the stresses of everyday life.

Our hunting areas cover the splendor of the remote wilderness of Montana’s untamed heartland, including rugged ranges, high mountain peaks, dense forests, as well as the exclusive lower valleys of the South Fork of the Flathead River, supporting an abundance of trophy elk, mule deer, white tail deer, black bear, mountain lion, and wolf.

Included in these legendary hunts are the adventures and the ultimate wildlife experiences of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Often referred to as the “crown jewel” of America’s wilderness areas, the “Bob” is comprised of over one million acres of remote mountain peaks and valleys serving as a safe haven for the purity and solitude that remains.

Our hunting and packing season is centered around the months of September through November. Because many of our camps are secluded in the remote wilderness, literally untouched by roads of any kind, two kinds of transportation prevail: foot and horseback. Backed by our years of experience, our guests are accompanied into the wilderness by means of horses and mules. While keeping our main goal in mind to provide each of our clients with the best outfitting service available, we will customize each trip tailored to our client’s expectations, interests, desires, comfort needs, and levels of expertise.

The professionalism combined with the unequivocal experiences of the Montana Backcountry Outfitters, will afford a Montana Wilderness Adventure that will leave you no alternative but to have a greater understanding and respect of a truly amazing resource - your Montana wilderness!
